Regenerative Medicine A2M Injection Therapy

A2M (Alpha 2 macroglobulin) is a naturally occurring powerful healing molecule that is present in our own blood and is our body’s major defense mechanism against arthritis and degeneration of the spine and joints.  A2M is a full spectrum multi-purpose protease inhibitor that can inactivate a variety of proteases that degrade cartilage which causes osteoarthritis (OA) and disc degeneration.  By inhibiting and eliminating these destructive enzymes, A2M can stop the progression of osteoarthritis and disc degeneration by preventing tissue breakdown, spinal disc degeneration and cartilage loss. This improves joint and spine function and decreases pain.

When a degenerative process is out of control, A2M is unable to enter the joint or disc space in large enough quantities to stop it due to its large size and complex structure. This scenario leads to joint and spinal disc destruction. It is therefore necessary to inject higher concentrations of A2M into the damaged areas to stop degeneration, repair damage, relieve pain and restore the balance of our body.  The A2M injection therapy that we provide in our practice utilizes a scientifically proven and award winning technology.  We use an effective natural process of concentrating A2M from your own blood without the use of synthetic or foreign substances.   A2M injection therapy involves taking a sample of blood from a patient, isolating a specific fraction and then concentrating it to a potent form of A2M. The purified and concentrated A2M is then injected directly into painful sites. The technology that we use is the only system available today to centrifuge, isolate plasma and concentrate A2M up to 6 times the body’s usual concentration. This technique supercharges your body’s natural ability to heal and regenerate.  It won Orthopedics This Week’s 2015 “Best New Spine Technology Award”.

In concentrated doses, A2M acts as a powerful protector against cartilage and spinal disc breakdown and further degeneration.  A2M also has growth hormone binding sites which can aid in the restoration of joints and discs.  This is a superior example of how regenerative medicine treatments activate the body’s own natural healing mechanisms to repair and restore without incisions, trauma, general anesthesia or the lengthy recovery period that is common with surgery.  A2M injection therapy is a minimally invasive non-surgical medical intervention.  The associated risk is also very low.

Stem Cell Therapy and Other Regenerative Medicine Treatments

We are committed to treating our patients with the most advanced regenerative medicine technology that is available. Two such treatments are bone marrow stem cell and fat stromal cell regenerative procedures.

Certain conditions, such as torn ligaments and tendons, severely damaged joint cartilage surfaces and advanced degeneration of spinal disks require treatment with very specific regenerative medicine techniques in order to restore function and eliminate pain. In these cases, we will isolate a small amount of your bone marrow stem cells or fat stromal cells. These cells will then be injected into the damaged structure under direct guidance.  However, injecting a stem cell does not necessarily result in a positive outcome. Stem cells have to be appropriately nurtured and signaled at the proper time in order to obtain the desired clinical effect. We therefore treat our patients with the appropriate biologics at the proper intervals to achieve a positive clinical outcome. Examples of the biologics that we use are placental derived growth products and cell signaling exosomes. We use these powerful tools to assure that our procedures have the greatest chance of success.

It is very important to have the proper environment for stem cells to flourish. For example, if there is an out of control inflammation from destructive enzymes that are present in a joint or a disc, even the best stem cell treatment could fail. That is why our treatment protocols have been carefully designed to check for and treat any joint or disc destroying process before instituting a stem cell treatment. A2M is the most powerful and effective treatment that I know of to stop many of the out of control destructive joint and disc processes that result in chronic degenerative diseases. Furthermore, a simple FAC test will determine if A2M is the appropriate treatment for you.

After a thorough evaluation of your medical history, physical examination and a review of the proper imaging and test results, we will determine if you are a good candidate for stem cell or other regenerative medicine procedures. In this way, we ensure that you receive the best possible treatment for your condition.

Conditions Treated

Regenerative Medicine A2M Injection Therapy Treats Many Pain Conditions

In our practice, we use regenerative medicine procedures to address many previously difficult to treat orthopedic pain conditions. We perform state of the art diagnostic tests to help determine if A2M is appropriate for your condition. These test results help us ensure that the destructive agents inside your spine or joints can be deactivated by A2M injections.
